INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this study was to compare regression equation to predict one repetition maximal strength(1RM) from 7~10RM test of bench press, lat pull down, leg extension, leg curl in untrained and trained male and female college students.
METHOD: The subjects were male 104(trained: 62, untrained: 42) and female 73(trained: 37, untrained: 36).
RESULT: The regression equation from 7~10RM test may predict acceptable degree of accuracy to 1RM of bench press, lat pull down, leg extension, leg curl in untrained and trained male and female college students. However, the regression equation of bench press and lat pull down was not affected by training experience in female, but male was affected by training statues. The association of regression equation of leg extension and leg curl in trained subjects showed much higher than untrained subjects.
CONCLUSION: The association of regression equation of leg extension and leg curl was affected by resistance training experience and statues in both male and female subjects.
